After years of beige, purple and grey are the new neutrals trending in 2012!
When decorating any bedroom, one must start with a comforter. The comforter is where colours can be drawn from, and where an overall mood and feeling created from.
The comfort and curtains is where the saturated purple would be used. In order to continue the seemless flow, a light purple/ grey colour was selected for the walls.
We accented with silver and mirrored night stands, grey headboard (Sears Home) and other silver accents.
We took a hint from the glamour chests (Bombay Company) and found a modern take on a classic chandelier and add two complementary lamps.
In this simple scheme symmetry was key.
The blend of a saturated purple, light purple and tones of gray give the room a restful quality, without feeling too bland or too jarring.
